Golcha Garments

You can find our workplace at Thannerpandal Colony, specifically at No. 2/54-c. It is located on Gandhi Road over in the Anupparpalayam area. This whole neighborhood is absolutely full of small workshops and little units making all kinds of clothes. We are just one of those many places trying to get the work done. We have got a few old sewing machines and a large cutting table that has definitely seen better days over the years. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread and small scraps of leftover fabric from the day's cutting. We do not have a big fancy sign out front, just the house number painted on the door. It is a family-run operation for the most part. My brother is the one who handles the machines and I am usually the one looking after the orders and the customers. We do not have a formal office space at all. It is just a small corner with a wooden stool and a worn-out notebook where we track things. We make all sorts of different garments, mostly just basic things that people need for their everyday lives. The noise from the other metal shops and garment units on Gandhi Road is constant, but you really stop hearing it after being here for a while. We work long hours when a big order comes in.
