General Stores

General Stores is located at 135 R.S. Road in Kinathukadavu. We have been sitting on this same stretch of R.S. Road for quite a long time now. It’s a simple setup where we keep everyday items that folks in the area might need for their houses. There’s nothing fancy or modern about our shop. We have the usual wooden shelves and a small counter where we spend most of our hours throughout the week. Kinathukadavu is a nice place to live and work, and being on the main R.S. Road helps people find us without any trouble. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who take care of the inventory and talk to the people who come in. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when the new stock arrives and we haven't put it all away yet, but we sort it out eventually. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the district. We just want to make sure the people living around R.S. Road have a place to get their essentials without having to travel too far into the city. It gets quiet in the afternoons sometimes, but the mornings and evenings are usually quite busy with people stopping by on their way home. We keep track of things in a simple way using just our memory and a basic notebook. It’s a local business run by local people who understand what the neighborhood needs. We don't use any complex systems or computers here.
