Lara Garments

Lara Garments is based at No. 9/19-a in Saibaba Nagar, over in the Valayankadugandhi Nagar Po area. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the whole address, but it’s where we’ve been for a while now. The shop is located in a spot that feels very much like a community. We see the same faces walking by every morning when we pull up the gates. Inside, there are usually piles of fabric waiting to be cut or finished. We try to keep a system going, but sometimes things get a bit chaotic when we have several different jobs going at once. Saibaba Nagar is a good place for a business like ours. We don't have any big signs or bright lights out front. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them where we were. The work is steady, which is all you can really ask for. We spend a lot of time sitting at the benches, and by the end of the day, our backs usually ache a bit. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp, especially during the afternoon slump. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. It’s just us doing the sewing and the packing at No. 9/19-a. We try to make sure everything that leaves here is done right, even if we are rushing to meet a deadline. It's just a regular shop.
