Kadavath Garments

Kadavath Garments is located at No. 22 Rajeev Nagar 4th Street in Samundipuram. It’s near the Gandhi Nagar P. O., which makes it easy to explain to people who are trying to find us. The workspace is filled with the sound of sewing machines humming most of the day. We have a group of people who are really good at what they do, sitting at their stations and focusing on the fabric. The room can get a bit cluttered with scraps of cloth and thread, but we try to tidy up every evening. It is a local operation through and through. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. People usually come straight to the workshop. Sometimes the 4th Street gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we have to be careful with the deliveries. We take things one day at a time here. If a machine breaks down, we fix it and keep going. It is not a quiet job, but there is a good rhythm to it. We drink tea together in the afternoons to take a small break. We aren't looking to become a giant factory. We just like making garments and making sure the people who buy them are satisfied with the work. It’s a plain building, but inside, there is a lot of activity happening from morning until the lights go out at night. We keep a small radio playing in the corner.
