G. K. Textiles

Over at No. 8 A in Chellam Nagar 1st Street, right off Murugampalayam Road, is where you’ll find G. K. Textiles. We have a pretty simple operation going on here. It’s mostly about moving fabrics and making sure everything is counted correctly. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the trucks go by, but inside we try to keep things as clean as possible for the cloth. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and we know most of the people who work on this street. It’s a friendly enough place. We don't have a fancy showroom with mannequins or anything like that. Our space is filled with stacks and stacks of different textiles. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when a new shipment comes in, but we get it sorted out eventually. We don't do any big advertising campaigns. Usually, people hear about us from someone else or they just see our building while they’re driving down Murugampalayam Road. We’re just regular folks trying to earn a living by providing cloth to whoever needs it. There’s no big secret to how we do things. We show up, we work the hours, and we go home. It’s not a complicated life, and that suits us just fine. If you drop by, you’ll probably find us mid-task, but we’re always happy to stop for a minute and help out.
