Fashion & Fashion is tucked away on Uthukuli Main Road, specifically at No. 1/28-35 V. K. R. Thottam 2nd Street. Finding us can be a little tricky if you don't know the area well because the streets around here all look kind of similar. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a few years. It’s a decent sized space, enough for the equipment and the fabric rolls we keep stacked against the walls. The morning starts early here before the sun gets too hot. We usually open up the doors to let a breeze in, though the street noise comes in with it. It’s mostly just us working through the piles of garments that need finishing. We don't do much advertising. People usually find out about us from someone else in the neighborhood. The street can get pretty crowded with trucks and bikes, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That's just how life is on Uthukuli Main Road. We handle a lot of different pieces throughout the week. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, but we’re used to it. The floor is concrete and we’ve got some old fans that squeak a little. It’s a plain place, but it works for what we need to do every day. There is no point in having a flashy front when the real work is happening in the back.
