Fair Knits Fasshion

If you go down to 637/3 Selvalakshmi Nagar near the Veerapandi Post, you'll find our place. It’s tucked away a bit in the Vidhyalayam area. Fair Knits Fasshion is basically just a group of us working with knitting machines and thread. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it keeps the rain off the equipment. We spend most of our hours watching the needles move and making sure the tension is right. It’s repetitive work, but we’re used to it. The neighborhood is quiet compared to the city center, which we like. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. We just show up in the morning, turn on the lights, and start on whatever pile is waiting for us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is just part of the deal around here. Most of the neighbors are familiar to us and they know our faces. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't try to be something we aren't. The work is just making knits and trying to keep everything running smooth enough so we can pay the bills and keep everyone employed. There’s a lot of thread dust on the floor by the end of the shift, but we sweep it up and start again the next day. We don't have a website or an app. People just call the landline or come by the gate if they need something. It’s been that way for years and it works for us.
