Our spot on Harvey Road is usually buzzing by nine in the morning. Being in Tirupur, things move fast, and we see a lot of people coming through the doors for their vision checks. It isn’t a corporate headquarters with glass walls; it’s just a medical office where the floor gets mopped twice a day and the lights are kept bright so we can see what we’re doing. Sometimes the computers act up or a shipment of lenses is late, and we just deal with it as it comes. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a place where you get your eyes looked at. Working on Harvey Road means you get used to the sound of horns and the general rush of the city. We open the shutters early, turn on the machines, and start seeing the first few people who were waiting outside. It’s a simple routine that repeats every day for everyone working here.
