You can find us at Sengunthapuram 8th Street, right near the Palagodown area on Mangalam Road. The address is 15/13-a. It’s a busy part of the town with lots of other businesses around. We’ve been operating from here for some time now. The street gets quite dusty when the wind picks up, but that’s just part of being in this area. We focus on fashion garments, so there’s always a lot of thread and scraps of fabric around the floor. We try to sweep up at the end of the day, but it’s a constant battle. The building is older, but it serves its purpose for what we do. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most of our space is dedicated to the actual work. People usually find us by word of mouth or if they’re familiar with Mangalam Road. It’s not a complicated operation. We have a few people working here and we just try to keep things moving. Sometimes the power goes out, which is frustrating, but we just wait it out and get back to it. It’s a real, local place. We don’t put on airs or pretend to be something we’re not. We just make the garments and try to do right by the people we work with. It’s a practical life, working in the heart of the garment district here. We have a small radio that plays music in the background to keep the mood light while we work on the piles of cloth.
