Divis Garments

We are set up on the ground floor of Sri Prasanna Avenue at No. 2 in Anaikadu. It’s a decent spot for Divis Garments because we don't have to carry heavy boxes up any stairs. The room is filled with the smell of fabric and the sound of the big ceiling fans. We have rows of tables where we sort through the different items before they go out. It can get a bit overwhelming when a new batch arrives and there is barely enough space to walk between the piles. We use a small stool to reach the higher shelves in the back. Anaikadu is a bit away from the main hub so it is quieter here which we actually like. We can focus on the sewing and the packing without too much distraction from the outside. Sometimes the delivery drivers get lost looking for Sri Prasanna Avenue so we have to go out to the main road to wave them down. The lighting inside is a bit dim in the corners but we have extra lamps on the workbenches. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about things other than work for a bit. It is a simple routine that we have followed for years. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure the garments are packed right and the orders are ready on time for the pickup.
