Marvels Clothing Company

Out here at Vadugapalayam Post, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Marvels Clothing Company is located right here, near the main road. It’s mostly a big shed where we have the stitching machines set up. You can hear the hum of the motors from outside. We make a lot of basic clothing items, mostly cotton stuff. The workers live nearby, and some have been with us since we started. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. We just take orders from wholesalers and get to work. Sometimes we run out of a certain thread color and have to wait for the delivery from town. It’s a bit of a trek to get supplies sometimes. The office is just a desk in the corner with a dusty computer and a lot of folders. We don't use any fancy software for the designs. Usually, it's just patterns we've used for years. In the afternoons, it gets quite hot under the tin roof, so we keep all the windows open. We’ve had some ups and downs over the years, but the machines keep running. It’s a family-run kind of place, really. We just try to make decent clothes that people can actually afford. There's no secret to it, just keeping the needles moving.
