Deyes Fashions

We are over on Karuppagoundan Palayam Road, just right across from the Tamilnadu Theater. Most days the noise from the street is pretty constant, especially when a new movie starts and the crowds gather outside. Deyes Fashions is a small operation really. We’ve got a few rooms filled with fabric and people working at their stations. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and get through the orders. This part of Veerapandi Post is mostly busy shops and people moving around all day. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big lobby for visitors. It’s just tables for cutting and machines for stitching. Usually, we start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. You can see the theater from our front door and it helps people find us if they get lost in the backstreets. We handle different kinds of clothes, mostly whatever comes in for the week. Sometimes it’s a lot of one thing, other times it’s a mix of different styles. The staff lives nearby, so we all know the local spots for a quick tea break. It isn't a quiet place by any means. There’s always the sound of motors and people talking over the machines. We just keep our heads down and do the work that’s in front of us. It’s been this way for a while now and we’re used to the rhythm of the road and the theater.
