C.R. Garment Exports is based out in Karaipudur Village, right opposite KNS Garden in Palladam. The address is a bit of a mouthful with all the SF numbers like 294/2B 4 and 294/1B in Sennimalaipalayam, but basically, we’re in a large shed in the village area. It’s a very rural setting, so you can see fields and open land all around us. The wind blows a lot of red dust into the building, so we’re constantly cleaning the surfaces. Being in Palladam means we’re away from the main city buzz, which is nice, but it also means we have to plan our transport very carefully. The work here is steady and follows the sun, starting early in the morning when it’s still cool. We have a lot of floor space for the garments, and it’s usually filled with people checking the quality before things get packed for export. It’s a lot of physical work, moving bags around and standing at the tables for hours. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just big industrial fans that hum all day long. Lunch is usually brought from home and eaten together in the shade. It’s a very grounded way to work, being out here in the village. We focus on the task at hand and don’t worry too much about the rest. The roads out here aren't the best, but we've got a good routine going at Sennimalaipalayam that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
