Cotton Knits

Cotton Knits is located at No. 55 College Road. It is a pretty easy place to find if you are driving down that way. Our building is nothing special to look at from the outside, but inside we stay pretty busy with our knitting machines and rolls of cotton yarn. We’ve been at this spot for a while and the neighbors know us well. The morning usually starts with a cup of tea and a look at the schedule for the day. We spend most of our time on the shop floor. It is loud when the machines are running, but that is the sound of work getting done. We don’t have a fancy lobby or receptionists waiting for you. Usually, if someone walks in, one of us just wipes our hands and goes to see what they need. It is a very hands-on kind of environment. College Road has its busy times, especially when the schools are letting out in the afternoon, but it’s generally a good place for us to be. We handle everything ourselves, from the first stitch to the final packing and shipping. It is just simple, honest work with cotton. We don’t use big words to describe what we do because we’d rather just show the work we finish. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and stay busy at number 55 every day.
