Smart Knits

Smart Knits is located out at S. F. No. 480- 1/ A- K. Chettipalayam, just along Dharapuram Road. It’s a bit further out than some other places, but we like it here. There’s a bit more room for our machines and the stock we have to keep. The building is basically a big open shed where all the knitting happens. It’s noisy and the floor vibrates when everything is running at once. We have a small crew of people from the nearby area who come in every day. Most of them have been doing this for years. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for people to sit and wait. It’s a working floor through and through. You’ll see big rolls of yarn and stacks of knitted fabric waiting to be moved. Dharapuram Road is always busy with traffic, but once you get inside, we’re just focused on the machines. We don't use any corporate language or have any big meetings. We just talk over the noise of the equipment to get things sorted. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, which is just part of being in this area. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous. We just want to keep the machines running and the work moving. It’s a practical business run by people who know the trade. Nothing more and nothing less than that. We just focus on the task at hand.
