Our place is at No. 10/24 in Poosaripalayam, which is a bit of a drive out near Chengapalli. Panda Garment Exports India Pvt. Ltd. is basically just a group of us working in a building that’s more about function than looks. We deal with garments all day, so there is thread and bits of fabric all over the floor by the time we close up. The light comes in through the side windows in the morning, which helps when we are checking the stitching on the shirts and trousers. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we keep the radio on to help the hours pass. Outside, the neighborhood is fairly quiet, not like the big city centers, which suits us just fine. We have a routine that we follow every day, starting with checking the orders and then getting the machines ready. There’s always a pile of stuff waiting to be packed into cartons for export. We don't have a big sign or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll just see us working around the big cutting tables. It’s hot in the summer, and we use a few old fans to keep the air moving while we sort through the different sizes and colors. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without too much extra fuss or worry.
