Shafa Button House

We have been here at No. 36/1 in the Binny Compound on Kumaran Road for a while now. It is a busy spot and sometimes the traffic makes it hard to get through, but we manage. Inside the shop, there are shelves filled with different types of buttons. Some are small and plastic while others are fancy or made of metal. We spend a lot of time counting them out for people who come in looking for something specific for their clothes. The lighting in the compound isn't always the best in the evening, so we have a few extra bulbs to help us see the colors clearly. You can find us pretty easily if you know the area near Kumaran Road. Most days we are just organizing the boxes and talking to the regulars who stop by. It gets a bit dusty with all the cardboard and thread, but that is just part of the work. Sometimes people bring in a coat and need just one matching button, and we have to dig through everything to find it. It is a lot of looking at small things all day. We keep a stool by the counter because standing for too long gets tiring. The floor is concrete and shows its age, but it holds up well with all the foot traffic. We usually open up early before the sun gets too hot and try to stay organized as best as we can.
