We operate Bhavani Menon Garment Pvt. Ltd. out in Poondi. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the city, which suits us just fine. Being near the post office makes it easier for us to handle the logistics of moving garments around. We’ve been here long enough that everyone in the village knows where we are. Our building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside there’s always something happening. We have rows of machines and a lot of thread everywhere you look. The pace here is steady. We don't usually rush unless there’s a specific deadline breathing down our necks. Most of our workers live nearby, so it feels more like a local gathering than a strict corporate office. We deal with lots of different fabrics throughout the week. Some are easier to work with than others. The road leading up to Poondi can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, which makes things tricky. We’ve got a couple of old wooden desks where we do the accounting and other boring stuff. The air gets a bit dusty from all the cloth, but we keep the windows open when the weather allows. It’s a simple life out here in Poondi. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure the clothes we put together are solid and done right. Sometimes we sit outside for a break when the sun isn't too hot.
