Award Garments

Award Garments is over at No. 23 Jothi Nagar 1st Street, right off P. N. Road. It’s a busy little corner of the world. The street is pretty narrow, and sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time getting in and out, which causes a bit of a backup. We’ve got a small team here, and most of us have lived in the area for years. We do a lot of sewing and garment construction throughout the day. The building is an older one, so it has its quirks, like a door that sticks in the rain and floors that aren't perfectly level. We don't mind, though; it gives the place character. The humming of the machines is the main sound you hear if you walk by our windows. We usually keep them open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it brings in the noise from P. N. Road. It’s not a fancy setup with a reception or anything. You just walk in and you’re pretty much in the middle of the workspace. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching and making sure the sizes are right. There’s a lot of pride in just doing a solid day’s work without any fuss. By the time we lock up in the evening, we are usually pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. We just do our thing and let the work speak for itself without needing to boast about it.
