Guruvarma Textiles

Our place is over on Ashar Nagar 2nd Street, which can be a bit confusing if you’re not from around here because of how Mullai Street 2nd Street connects nearby. No. 33 A is where Guruvarma Textiles operates. It’s a quiet enough street most days, though you get the usual local traffic and people walking their dogs. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place that fits into the neighborhood. Inside, it smells like fabric and a bit of old wood. We have shelves lined with different rolls of cloth and piles of textiles that need sorting. It’s not the most organized looking place if you just walk in, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our hours here, measuring things out and checking the quality of what comes through the door. There’s a ceiling fan that clicks a bit, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't big on presentations or sales pitches. We just show people what we have and tell them the truth about it. Working in Ashar Nagar feels right for us. It’s a working-class area where people appreciate a bit of effort. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team. It’s just us, the fabric, and the daily work that needs doing. Sometimes we have tea on the steps when it's quiet.
