We are based at No.117 in Jeeva Colony, which is part of Gandhi Nagar in Tirupur. The area is filled with people working in the textile trade. Our office is a modest place on a residential street. We have a small sign above the entrance so people don't miss it. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our desks. We have a lot of cupboards to hold the files because we’ve been doing this for a while. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they’re fine for now. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit, but it does its job. The street outside is usually busy with scooters and cycles. We get to work around nine and start going through the daily collections. It’s a lot of handwriting and checking figures. Tirupur is a loud, energetic city and you can feel that even inside the colony. We have a small water cooler in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. Most of the people who come in are workers from the nearby garment units. They stop by after their shifts. We don't have any fancy software to show off, just honest books and a calculator. It’s a practical workspace where we focus on the task at hand. We stay until the accounts for the day are closed.
