We've been here at No. 26 Appachi Nagar 3rd Stage for a while now. Running a knitting place like Jet Knit Wears Pvt. Ltd. takes a lot of time and effort every day. The machines keep going, and the floors are usually covered in some bit of yarn or thread. It’s noisy, but that’s just how it is when you’re making clothes. People around here know where we are. We don't really do the whole fancy office thing because most of our work happens on the floor. Most mornings start with checking the power and making sure the needles are okay. It's not a glamorous job, honestly. My hands are usually tired by the end of the shift. We try to keep things moving so we don't get a backlog. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to dry things properly, which is a real pain. We just focus on getting the knitting done and sent out. Our neighbors at Appachi Nagar are mostly other workshops too. It feels like a busy corner of the world. There’s always someone coming or going with a bundle of fabric. We’ve had the same crew for a bit, and they know the routine. If you walk past, you'll hear the rhythmic clicking of the machines through the door. It’s just what we do here day in and day out. Nothing more to it than that. We just keep our heads down and work.
