Vgs Garments

We’re located over in Thilagam Nagar 2nd Street. It’s a quiet enough spot in Anuparpalayam compared to the main roads nearby. We started Vgs Garments because we knew how to sew and handle fabric from a young age. It’s mostly just us and a few sewing machines in the room. The floor is usually covered in thread and scraps of cloth by the end of every day. We try to sweep up, but it just builds back up again by the next afternoon. Most of our days are spent sitting at the machines or checking the stitching on the finished pieces. It’s repetitive work, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that feels right once you get going. We aren't a big factory or anything. It’s just a small setup here in the neighborhood. People stop by sometimes just to ask about work or to have a quick chat while we work. We keep the doors open when it gets too hot inside. The breeze helps a bit with the heat. We get our fabric from the local markets and just work through whatever orders we have on the books at the time. Nothing fancy happens here. Just regular folks making clothes day in and day out. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to take a break until it comes back on. We use that time to have some tea and rest our eyes. It’s a simple life for us.
