Annu Exports Thiruppur

Up here in Sherif Colony, things start early. We are at number 55 in the Avinasiappan Layout, which is tucked away in the Kuringinagar extension. The building is just a regular place where we get the sewing done and pack the boxes for shipping. Most of the guys have been working here for years and they know the machines better than anyone else. It gets noisy when everything is running at once, but that is just how it is in Thiruppur. We spend a lot of time checking the seams and making sure the threads are cut clean. Outside, the road gets dusty when the trucks go by, but inside we try to keep things organized. Usually, there are stacks of cotton everywhere. We don't have a big fancy office or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely find me in the back or talking to the drivers about the load. The weather here is always a bit humid which isn't great for the fabric, so we keep the windows open for a breeze. It is just honest work, day in and day out. We take our breaks together and talk about the local news. Nothing too complicated really. We just make the clothes and send them where they need to go, hoping the rain doesn't hold up the delivery trucks. It is a simple way to make a living and we have stayed busy this way for years.
