Leo Knit Apparels

We are located at 2/581hrhk Nagar on 7th Street, which is in Andipalayam near Mangalam Road. It is a specific part of the neighborhood that has a lot of small units like ours. The street is pretty narrow, so when a truck comes to pick up the boxes, everything else has to stop for a minute. We have been working out of this space for some time now. Inside, there are stacks of knitted fabrics in different colors and piles of yarn waiting to be used. It can get pretty loud when all the knitting machines are going at once, and it’s hard to hear the phone ringing sometimes. We keep a lot of our notes pinned to the walls so we don't lose track of the different sizes and styles we are making. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, it’s incredibly noisy, but it keeps us dry. We mostly stick to ourselves and get the daily tasks done, from checking the stitches to packing the finished items into plastic bags. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are usually a bit tired by the end of the day. We usually share some snacks in the evening before we close up the shop. It isn't a glamorous job but we take it seriously and try to avoid making mistakes. We just stay focused on the knitting and keep the machines running.
