Akr Agro Mills

Akr Agro Mills is tucked away inside the old Akr Textile Mill Compound. If you head down Valayankadu Main Road in Kumar Nagar, you’ll find us there. It’s an old building, but it does the job for what we need. We handle a lot of agro processing here. The machines can be quite loud when they're all running at once. Sometimes the neighbors hear the humming from the street. I’ve worked here for a long time, and the place hasn't changed much, which I kind of like. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity with shiny windows. Mostly, we just focus on the milling and making sure the product is clean. The floor stays covered in a bit of dust, and that's just part of the life in a mill. People come by to pick up their loads, and we chat for a bit before they head off. It's a steady pace. Kumar Nagar is a good place for a business like this because it’s central. We stay late most nights when the harvest season is in full swing. The gate at the compound sometimes sticks, so you have to give it a good shove to get in. We've talked about fixing it, but we always seem to get distracted by the actual work. Inside, it's a bit of a maze with all the different sections. We've got a small area where we keep our tools and spare parts for the machines. It’s not very tidy, but we know where everything is.
