Adarsh Knitwear

Our workshop is situated at No. 1/h-9 in the Thanner Pandal Colony, which is part of the Anupparpalayam Post area. It’s a busy neighborhood where a lot of people are doing similar work. We focus on knitwear. The space we have isn't huge, so we have to be smart about where we stack the boxes and the rolls of fabric. It’s a lot of work to keep it organized. We have a few sewing machines and some people who are good at the detailing. It is not a corporate setup by any means. There is thread on the floor and the walls are covered with notes and schedules. We just try to get through the work each day without too many hiccups. The colony itself is always full of activity, with people moving goods on bikes or small vans. You can hear the sound of work coming from every other door. We don't really have a big public face or a website that looks professional. We just deal with people directly. It’s practical work. We make the clothes, check them for holes or bad stitches, and then pack them up. It’s what we know how to do, and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but we make it work. We’ve been here for a good while now and the neighborhood has become like home. Every day brings something different, even if the work itself stays mostly the same. We just keep our heads down and try to do things right.
