Active Apparels

We are located at 5a on 4th Street in Erukadu, over in the Karuvampalayam area. It’s a typical street for this part of town, filled with small businesses and people moving around. We make activewear, so we deal with a lot of stretchy fabrics and breathable materials. It’s a bit different from sewing regular shirts because the machines have to be set up just right for those types of cloth. Our building is a standard two-story place. We have the machines on one level and the storage on the other. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, but we have the windows open and the fans going. We aren't a big corporation with a board of directors. It’s mostly just the owner and a bunch of skilled tailors and cutters who have been doing this for years. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People in Karuvampalayam know where we are if they need to talk to us. We spend our time checking the seams and making sure the sizes are consistent. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch if the deadline is tight. That’s just part of the business. We take pride in just doing a solid day's work and seeing the finished clothes stacked up and ready to go. It’s a good life, even if it’s a bit noisy and the street gets crowded. We just keep sewing until the sun goes down and then we lock up.
