Aafiya Garments

If you head over to Swarnapuri Layout in the Kombai Thotam area, you’ll eventually find us. Aafiya Garments is a relatively small outfit. We aren't located in one of those huge, cold industrial parks; we’re more of a local neighborhood business. Our setup is pretty basic and straightforward. We have our machines lined up and a small area for inspecting the finished pieces before they are packed. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is a nice change compared to the busy main town area. We spend our days sewing, trimming, and folding. Most of the people working here live nearby, so it’s a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write those fancy slogans you see. We just make clothes. If a shirt has a bad seam or a loose button, we rip it out and do it again. That’s about as complicated as our whole philosophy gets. Sometimes the humid weather makes the fabric hard to work with, or the electricity goes out for a few hours, but that’s just life around here. We drink coffee together in the mornings and then get straight to it. We don't try to be something we’re not. We’re just a bunch of folks making garments and hoping to do a good enough job that people keep coming back. We’ve been here for a few years now and it has become a real part of our lives.
