A. K. M. International(aruna Knitting Mills)

A. K. M. International, which some people also call Aruna Knitting Mills, is located at 11 Mgr Nagar. If you are familiar with the area, we are right behind the Shanthi Theater. It is a good landmark because everyone knows where the theater is. We have been knitting and working on textiles at this location for many years. The sound of the knitting machines is something you just get used to after a while; it’s like the heartbeat of the building. We don't have a big front office with a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see people working or moving yarn around. It can get pretty dusty with all the fibers in the air, but that is just part of the job in a mill. Mgr Nagar is a busy place, and being behind the theater means there is always something going on outside our doors. We focus on the knitting and making sure the machines are running right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to take a break until it comes back on, which is just part of living and working here. We keep things simple and don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local mill doing our thing in the back of the theater.
