Sowdhambika Creations Exports

Our place is on Kalyam Koil Street in the 15th Velampalayam area. It’s a small street, number 23/A to be exact. We do exports here, mostly textile stuff because that’s what this region is known for. The building is simple and we’ve been here for quite some time now. You can hear the sounds from the street all day. We have a few rooms filled with fabric and samples. It gets a bit crowded when a big order is being packed. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us working and making sure the counts are right. Sometimes we stay late when the trucks are coming. My uncle started this years ago and now we just carry it on. The name comes from our family traditions. We deal with people from different places, which is interesting. We just write down what they need and try to get it ready on time. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather is bad or the power goes out. But we keep at it. The tea shop at the corner is where we take our breaks. Everyone in the neighborhood knows who we are. We just want to keep the work going and keep our heads down. It’s a decent life here in Velampalayam and we’re happy to be here doing this specific work.
