Ranjith Intermediate

We are located at No. 23/A on Kalyam Koil Street, which is part of No. 15 Velampalayam. Ranjith Intermediate has been based here for a while. The street is usually quiet in the mornings, but it picks up later on when the workers come out. Our building is a simple one, just like the others on the block. We deal with intermediate goods, so there’s often a lot of crates and boxes moving in and out of the doors. It’s not the kind of place where you’d see a lot of decorations. We have some basic shelving and a couple of desks for the paperwork. The floor is concrete and shows some wear from all the heavy lifting over the years. We know most of the neighbors, and we often see the same people walking by every day. It’s a working-class area and we fit right in. We don't have a big sign out front, just the number on the door and some stuff piled near the entrance. Inside, we just keep track of the stock and talk to the transporters who come to pick up the loads. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s just a normal part of life here. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just handle the materials and make sure they get to the next stage of production. It’s a simple job in a simple place.
