Ahmed Food Industries

Over at 110/B on Iqbal Road in Muslimpur, things are always a bit hectic. That’s where Ahmed Food Industries is located. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell whatever it is we’re working on that day. Sometimes it’s spices, other times it’s something sweeter. We have a small kitchen setup and a packing area that always feels a bit too cramped when everyone is working at once. It’s a loud place, with machines humming and people shouting over the noise to get things moved along. We don't have any big fancy offices; the desk where we do the accounts is right there in the corner of the main room. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and we know most of the people who walk past our doors. The work is repetitive, but we try to keep things interesting by trying out different batches when we have a spare moment. We worry about things like the price of ingredients and whether the delivery van is going to start up in the morning. It’s a very practical kind of life. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the food is good and getting it out the door on time. It’s messy, it’s hot, and it’s loud, but it’s what we do.
