Poornachandra Rice Mill

Poornachandra Rice Mill has been sitting here on Lakshmireddypalli Road for quite some time. We are right at number 23, which is easy to find because it is directly opposite the Chittor Railway Station. You can usually hear the trains coming and going while we work. The mill is a busy place, especially during the harvest times when there is a lot of noise and dust everywhere. It’s hard work, and our clothes usually end up covered in bits of husk by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. It is mostly just the machinery and the space where we stack the bags. People come in from all around the area, sometimes bringing their own stock or just checking what we have ready. Being so close to the station helps because things are always moving nearby. The road outside can get a bit crowded with trucks and carts, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest mill out there, we just focus on getting the rice through the machines properly. It’s a local business run by people who live right here. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the day fixing them, but that is just part of the job. We keep the doors open and just get on with it. If you’re near the station, you’ll probably see the sign.
