P.Mahesh Charted Accountant

P.Mahesh is the name of my accounting practice here on G.S. Street in Tirupati. My office is located at door number 15-3-146. My father is C. Shanmugam, and many people in the area know him, which is often how they find out about my work. I started this practice to help people around the neighborhood with their tax problems and general bookkeeping. It is a small space, mostly just me and a few desks piled high with paper. G.S. Street is a busy part of Tirupati, so there is always noise from the street coming in through the door. I spend most of my time looking at bank statements and trying to make sure everything adds up correctly for the year-end filings. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what I do. Sometimes I have to stay late to finish up things when the deadlines are close. The office has a bit of dust on the shelves and the air conditioner is a bit loud, but it works well enough. I don't use any fancy software that does everything for me; there is still a lot of manual checking involved. People drop by with their bills in plastic bags and we sit down to sort through them one by one. It’s just how things are done here. I try to keep it simple and honest. There isn't any big corporate talk in this office, just me trying to get the numbers to work out for the folks who come in.
