Our place, Bhagyalakshmi Fruit Canning Industries, is situated at 19/470 on Jadamun Street. It is an old-fashioned kind of setup. We deal with fruit canning, which means there is always a lot of washing, peeling, and sealing going on. Jadamun Street is a specific kind of place with its own character. It’s not the quietest street, but we like being here. The building we are in has seen better days, but it holds everything we need for the work. We spend our hours making sure the cans are filled right. Sometimes the machinery gets a bit loud, and we have to shout to be heard over the noise of the canning line. It is messy work at times, especially when the seasonal fruits come in and everything has to move fast before things spoil. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. It’s just us and the fruit. We keep a close eye on the stock and the heat in the kitchen area. People around here know us as the ones who always have crates stacked up outside. It's a straightforward business. We show up, do the work, and go home. That's how it has always been for us on Jadamun Street. There is something satisfying about seeing the finished cans all lined up at the end of a long shift when we finally turn the lights off.
