Vijayam Traders

Our shop, Vijayam Traders, is at number 377 on Valadi Main Road. If you know Maruthi Nagar, you probably know the stretch of road we are on. It’s a busy spot with plenty of people walking by or stopping their bikes to check on things. We’ve been operating out of this building for some time. It isn't a huge place, so things can get a bit cramped when a fresh shipment arrives. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around to make space. It’s just how it goes when you’re running a small trade business. We don’t have those fancy computer systems that track every single movement. We mostly use a notebook and our memory to keep track of what’s on the shelves. Sometimes a customer asks for something we just sold out of, and we have to tell them to come back next Tuesday. It’s a bit embarrassing but that’s life. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that drives me crazy some days, but it keeps the air moving. We get all sorts of people coming through the door. Some are in a hurry, others want to talk for twenty minutes about the weather or the road construction nearby. Maruthi Nagar is a good place to be, even if it gets crowded. We have a small bench outside where some of the older men sit and chat sometimes. We don't mind as long as they aren't blocking the door. Running Vijayam Traders isn't exactly a glamorous job. It’s mostly just checking stock and making sure the bills are paid.
