Vasantha Stores

If you’re walking down West Mada Street in Tirunelveli Town, you’ll find Vasantha Stores at number 40. We are quite close to Pothys, so the area is usually buzzing with people shopping for clothes and other things. Our store is more focused on the basics. We’ve been here for years, and the building itself shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We sell things like tea leaves, sugar, different pulses, and household items. The wooden shelves are old and have a few scratches, but they hold a lot of stock. It gets very busy during temple festival times, and the street outside can be almost impossible to walk through. Inside, it’s a bit calmer, though we often have three or four people talking at once at the counter. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just open the shutters every morning and start our day. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights to find things for the customers, but no one seems to mind much. We just focus on getting the right items to the right people. It’s a simple life running a shop in Tirunelveli. We know the regulars by name and they know us too. It feels less like a business and more like just being part of the town's history. We aren't doing anything fancy, just keeping the shop open for the neighborhood.
