Thilaka Travels

Thilaka Travels is out in Veerakeralampudur. It is a bit far from the main Tirunelveli city, but we like it that way. We have been running this small travel business for quite some time now. We don't have a big fancy office with glass windows or anything. It’s just a basic setup where we keep our logs and answer the phone. Most of the drivers here are just local men who needed a way to support their families. We know everyone in Veerakeralampudur, so half the time we aren't even looking at the GPS. We just know which house belongs to whom. We don't use any corporate language or have big meetings about goals. Our goal is just to finish the day's trips and get home for dinner. The roads out here can be a little rough after the monsoon, but we are used to it. We don't have a huge fleet, just a handful of reliable cars that we try to keep clean. Sometimes things go wrong, like a flat tire or a dead battery, and we just deal with it right there on the road. People here know they can just come by the house if they need to book a ride for the next morning. We don't do anything special or promotional. We are just a local group of drivers doing what we’ve always done. It’s a quiet life, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the cars moving.
