Tuticorin is a place where you always feel the salt in the air. We’ve been operating Sterlite Industries India Limited here for a good while, and most of us are used to the heat by now. It isn't a flashy office by any means. It’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of paperwork that needs to be filed every day. We don’t have those big glass buildings you see in the movies. Our place is more practical. The guys usually show up a bit early to beat the sun, and we drink a lot of water throughout the afternoon. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with the trucks going toward the port, but you stop noticing it after a week or two. We just focus on what’s in front of us. It’s a simple setup. We know the neighbors, and we know which tea stall has the best snacks when we take a break. There’s no big corporate vibe here. We are just people from the town working a job. Some days are busier than others, especially when the shipments are moving, but we manage to get things finished. The building itself is just a regular spot in Tuticorin. It’s seen better days, maybe, but it works for us. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun starts to go down. It’s just an honest way to spend the day.
