Over at 37 East Street in Vazhuthalaikudi, you’ll find us at Srinivasa Blue Metal. We’ve been working this plot for a while, and it’s become a second home to us. The work isn't easy; it involves a lot of grit and handling heavy loads of blue metal. We start early when the air is still a bit cool because once the sun hits the yard, it gets hot fast. Most of our day is spent watching the trucks come in and out. We provide stone for all sorts of things, from small garden walls to bigger house foundations. It’s a simple process of getting the right size gravel to the right person. We don’t have a fancy office, just a small place to sit and do the accounts. The neighbors are used to the sound of the loaders by now. We try to keep things orderly, though with stone and dust, that’s always a challenge.
