Sri Subasri Chit Fund Private Limited operates out of Plot No.1/200 in Samundeeswari Amman Nagar, Periyakaruppur. It’s a residential-feeling area, so our office fits right in with the neighborhood. We handle chit funds for the people living nearby and some of the small shop owners too. The way it works is pretty traditional. People join a group and we make sure the monthly collections happen on time. There is a lot of counting and checking of lists every single day. We don't have an automated system that does everything; there’s still a lot of manual work involved. You’ll see us with our pens and calculators out for most of the morning. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but people don't seem to mind. We know the birthdays of our clients and whose kid just started school. It’s that kind of place. We don't try to sound like a big bank from the city. We just talk like normal people because that’s who we are. If the power goes out, we open the windows and keep working by the light coming in. The office is plain, with just the essentials. We just want to make sure the chit cycles are fair and everyone gets their turn. It’s a job that requires being honest and paying attention to the small details. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay for the long haul.
