Sri Amman Sakthi Stores

We are at 6, Mani Nagaram, right near the Lukka Eye Hospital. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the hospital is. Our store is a bit of a local fixture in this part of town. We open up early and usually stay until late in the evening. It’s a small space, but we pack it full of whatever we think the neighbors might need. Sri Amman Sakthi Stores is just a place where people drop in to pick something up or have a quick chat while they are out running errands. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Things are just on the shelves where they fit. We know most of the families around Mani Nagaram. It’s a nice community and we feel lucky to be a part of it. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when too many people come in at once, but we manage. The fan hums in the corner and we just keep serving whoever is next in line. It’s not a complicated business. We just keep the stock moving and try to remember what everyone usually likes to buy. Being near the hospital means we see a lot of different faces every day. We just stay behind the counter and just try to keep everything running smoothly. It is busy work, but we are used to the long hours and the talk.
