Pothigai Sweets

You can find Pothigai Sweets over at 28 Alagesapuram. We are situated right near the old bus stand, which means there’s a constant flow of people walking past our door. It’s a lively part of town. The shop usually smells like ghee and boiling sugar from very early in the morning. We start the fires before the sun is even up to get the first batches ready. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially in the summer months. We don't have air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that spin all day. The counter is usually crowded with trays of different things we've made. Some days are busier than others, especially around the holidays when everyone wants something. We use old recipes that have been around for a long time. There’s no fancy packaging here, just paper boxes and bags. The staff has been here for years, and we all know the regulars who come in from the bus stand. It’s a small space, and things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock. We don't do any big promotions or anything. The smell of the food usually brings people in. Alagesapuram is our home, and we like being part of the daily routine here.
