P T S Motor Service

P T S Motor Service is located at 66-D on Madurai Road, right near the Madurai Hotel Aryaas. We spend most of our days here with grease on our hands and the sound of traffic from the Tirunelveli Junction always in the background. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a basic workspace with concrete floors that have seen better days. We have a lot of tools scattered around the benches, and usually, someone is looking for a wrench that went missing. The heat in Tirunelveli can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we keep a water pot in the corner and a squeaky ceiling fan going at full speed. People stop by because they are heading toward the junction and notice us or they are staying at the hotel nearby. We have some old plastic chairs for folks to sit on while we look at their engines, but most people just stand around and talk. The smell of oil and exhaust is just part of the air here. It gets loud when the big buses pass by, but you get used to it after a while. We open up early and stay until the street lights come on Madurai Road. It is a lot of manual work and the days are long, but it’s just what we do. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk with some old ledgers and a lot of parts waiting to be used.
