Our agency is located at 345 Kottikulam Road in Melapalayam. It’s a straightforward operation. We handle gas cylinders for the neighborhood. Every morning starts with the sound of metal clanking as the delivery trucks get loaded up. It's a heavy job, and the guys who work here have strong arms from moving those tanks all day. The office is just a small room at the front where we keep the records and handle the bookings. It’s usually got a stack of logbooks on the desk and a phone that doesn’t stop ringing during peak hours. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just make sure people get their gas so they can cook their meals. Sometimes the delivery schedule gets messed up because of traffic or a truck breaking down, and we have to scramble to fix it. We know most of the families around here since we’ve been delivering to their houses for a long time. It’s a lot of responsibility because people rely on us for their daily lives. We don't have a website or do much advertising. People know the blue gate on Kottikulam Road. We just keep our heads down and try to get the cylinders out on time. It’s a simple business, built on regular routes and familiar faces in the Melapalayam area. We try to be helpful, even when the rain makes the roads mud and everything slows down to a crawl.
