Meena Flute Industry

We are located at 21-B in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, over in the Pettai area. If you walk by, you might hear the sound of flutes being tested. That is what we do at Meena Flute Industry. It is more of a workshop than a factory. We have been making these instruments for quite a while. The space is filled with bamboo and various tools for cutting and shaping. It is a dusty job, and there are shavings all over the floor by the end of the day. We aren't a big industrial plant. It is just a few of us who know how to make a decent flute. We don't use fancy machinery. Most of it is done by hand, which takes time. People in Pettai know us as the flute people. We don't have a big sign or a fancy storefront. We just work out of this unit in Ambedkar Nagar. The neighborhood is mostly residential and small shops, so it’s a nice place to be. We start our work early when it’s still cool outside. Each flute is checked to make sure it sounds right before we put it aside. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they’ve bought from us before. It is a simple, honest way to make a living, and we enjoy the quiet rhythm of the work. Making things by hand just feels right to us.
