Manigandan Traders

Pakkan Village is where we sit. It's a small spot in Patrakalai and we've been here for a long time. Manigandan Traders is just a simple place where we handle the daily needs of the people living around here. There isn't much to it, just a shop with things people need like grain and household items. We keep the doors open from early morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes it gets really busy when the farmers come in after their work is done. You can hear the tractors passing by outside on the road. The building itself is old and the number 274 is painted on the side. We keep the bags of rice and dal stacked up against the back wall. Sometimes the dust gets on everything because the road isn't paved very well, so we spend a lot of time with a duster. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us working here. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. It is nice to live and work in the same village. We don't do anything special, just keep the shelves filled with what folks ask for. If we don't have something, we try to get it on the next delivery day. The weather here can be quite hot, so we usually have a cold water pot sitting near the entrance for anyone who is thirsty. That’s just how we do things here.
