Malani Lighting Co.

Malani Lighting Co. is situated right on East Car Street. We are directly opposite the Canara Bank, so we are pretty easy to find if you are walking in the neighborhood. The shop has been here for a long time. It’s New No. 111, though some of the older folks still remember it as Old No. 52. We have lights of all kinds hanging from the ceiling and stacked on the shelves. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes. We spend a lot of time testing bulbs and showing people how different fixtures work. It’s not just about selling a lamp; it’s about making sure it actually works when they get it home. We get all sorts of customers, from people just needing a cheap tube light to those looking for something a bit nicer for a wedding or a house party. The street outside is always busy, especially during festival times when everyone wants to decorate their houses with new lights. We don’t have a website or any of that stuff. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to walk in. Sometimes the fans in the shop make a weird clicking noise, and we keep meaning to fix them but never get around to it. We are just a local shop trying to provide what people need. It’s a bit dusty, and the coffee we make in the back isn't the best, but we like it here. It’s a steady way to make a living.
