K L Footwear

K L Footwear is a small shop located at 2, Thiru Vi Ka Street in the Municipal Colony area. We are right there in Veerappanchatram, which is a busy little part of town. The shop is usually filled with the smell of new shoes and rubber soles. We have boxes stacked up all the way to the ceiling in the back, and sometimes it’s a struggle to find the exact pair someone is asking for. It’s a local place, so we see a lot of the same faces coming in for school shoes or just something comfortable to wear around the house. We don’t have fancy displays or expensive lighting. There are just a few mirrors on the floor and some wooden benches for people to sit on while they try things on. Thiru Vi Ka Street can be quite narrow, so it gets crowded with scooters and people walking by. We usually keep the front door open to catch whatever breeze there is, even if it brings in a bit of dust from the street. It’s just us working here, helping people find shoes that don't pinch their toes. We’ve been part of the Municipal Colony for years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over that time. It’s a simple job, but we like being here and seeing the locals every day. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized amidst all the towers of shoeboxes.
